Truth and Reconciliation Walk

On Friday September 27th, in early observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, students came together to honor the legacy of Chanie Wenjack, and the many lives affected by the residential school system. The day began with a smudge offered by Mr. Lehman before school began, allowing participants to ground themselves in reflection and healing.

Later in the morning, students took part in a walk outside around the Namao School grounds, symbolizing a collective journey toward reconciliation and change. Walking in unity, they reflected on the importance of remembering the past and working towards a better future.

We invite families and community members to learn more about the story of Chanie Wenjack's story by clicking here.
