June at Namao
It's been a busy few weeks here at Namao School! As we inch closer to the end of the school year, we'd like to share a few highlights from the last little while.
On May 23rd, students from a few grades headed over to Sturgeon Composite High School to compete in the Sturgeon School Division STEAM games! This was the first STEAM Games hosted in years, and our students were very excited to test their medal against the other schools in our division. We are proud to announce that Namao took home First Place Overall! Go Royals!
On May 28th, our Elementary and Junior High athletes competed at the Sturgeon School Division Track and Field Divisionals! In Elementary, we took home First Place in the Girls' Ball Throw, Grade 5 Boys Relay, Girl's Running Long Jump, Girls Standing Long Jump, Grade 5&6 Boys 1500m , and Girls 800m! And out Junior High track team won First Place Overall! To say that we're impressed is an understatement! Way to go Namao!
The first week of June, we celebrated Pride Week. This week offered an opportunity to discuss inclusivity, diversity and acceptance within the school community. We are happy to cultivate an environment of respect, understanding and support for everyone that walks through our doors!
