Baking with Ms. Kleespies!

Earlier this week, some students from 4-9 donned their aprons and prepared to embark on a culinary adventure with Ms. Kleespies!

We discussed the importance of precision measuring our ingredients, and used our math skills to divide our recipe. The group paired up into teams and worked together to bake some sugar cookies that they would then decorate the following day!

When it came to mixing the icing, Ms. Kleespies used this as an opportunity to facilitate a discussion about colour theory. The whole process from beginning to end was full of chances to work on communication, teamwork, math, science and to explore creativity - not to mention the deliciousness!
